Meteorological complication at the T293 Europeans
The rain and cold did’t stop the Techno 293 European Championship: a north wind regatta for the under 17s.
Meteorologically complicated third day at the European Techno 293 Championship in Torbole, on the Garda Trentino, an event organized by Circolo Surf Torbole on a delegate of the Italian Sailing Federation: after a long wait between rain and wind that came and went, the Regatta Committee took advantage of the first window of less time to start. If mid afternoon rain stopped falling, the temperature still remained stiff, but the U17 boys managed to put up a test, albeit with very gusty wind and difficult to manage, considering gusts 10 to 25 knots from the north.
After four regatta the Spanish Bruno Barbara Tor is still in command among the men's under-17s, despite the fourteenth place today (ruled out with the entry of the fourth test); according to the Greek Vasmanolis, today second and third general the Turkish Topal. Victory of the day for the other Greek Koutelas. Riccardo Poledrini from Cagliari (Windsurfing Club Cagliari) is first among Italians, fifth. First two Turkish positions in the
U17 women with Defne Simay Basdag (early day) and Nurhayat Güven. Third in Cagliarita Teresa Medde. Good test day for Greek Anagnostou (second) and Turkish Guzel (third). Many girls failed to finish the regatta because of too violent and sudden flashes. From
Friday afternoon, the penultimate day of this European Techno 293 Championship, the weather should improve: we will do everything possible.
